![]() ![]() What I love about her character is that, when her family was in danger, she stepped up. Pros: she looks sweet and innocent, and she is-but she’s feisty. What are the pros and cons of Kate’s character and what do you enjoy most about playing her on screen? She’s relatable to a lot of women and girls in that sense-her journey growing from an innocent girl, to a woman, fighting to get her footing in this criminal world. ![]() What I loved about her was that she was young, innocent and sheltered, but there’s a lot more than meets the eye. On the series, you play the role of Kate Fuller. I knew the story from when I was a child, and the project had an amazing team onboard. MADISON DAVENPORT MOVIEI didn’t get to read the script before accepting the project but I loved the movie and I knew I wanted to be a part of it. When you think back about the process from the beginning, what was it about the script that attracted you to the show? I had the opportunity to speak with Robert Rodriguez over Skype and I was drawn into working with him. But, I knew that I wanted to be a part of it. I didn’t get to read the script before arriving on set, and I didn’t audition for the role. I watched the film when I was younger with my Dad, so I was familiar with the story when I first heard of the project. How were you first introduced to the show? You’re currently on El Rey Network’s, From Dusk Till Dawn. In a way, it validated my career at 9-years old, and it made me want to keep going. MADISON DAVENPORT FULLI had the opportunity to work with her when I was 9 in “Christmas Is Here Again” and it was a full circle moment. When I was young, I remember watching Shirly Jones in Oklahoma and Carousel, and I fell in love with her voice and presence on screen. Which actors have influenced your career in the best way, thus far? I think that Jennifer Lawrence is such a strong feminine figure in entertainment right now, and I would love to meet and work with her. I would love to work with Tom Hardy, I think I could learn a lot from him. Meryl Streep, Meryl Streep, Meryl, Streep, Meryl Streep, Meryl Streep. I had no idea I was going to be the queen of hell by the end of this season, but I got to grow with her and portray her evolution.Īt this point, which actors would be on your wish list to work with, if given the opportunity? I started playing Kate in From Dusk Till Dawn at 17, and she was sheltered and innocent, as was I at that age. It’s exciting to be unsure of where your role will end up. MADISON DAVENPORT TVI also love the process of developing a TV character, because you get to grow with them. What I love about film, is you’re on set for about 2 months- and you know your character arch, you know your character from beginning to end, and you get to fully develop the character. She is repped by UTA, Industry Entertainment, CESD and Hansen Jacobson.Since you started your career in 2002, you’ve done a fair amount of both film and television. This is really clever and helped tying everything together.īesides the articulated story, I really appreciated how they tried to convey some moral messages and touch on delicate topics. While watching this, I had the impression some characters were really unnecessary, but at the end it turned out that each and every character had a reason and a purpose. ![]() Although some details were predictable, the overall scheme was absolutely unimagineable. ![]() It starts out quite modestly with Iya who wants to understand what happened to her parents, but she ends up uncovering the secrets of everyone on the island. I'd reccomend it to the people who are not much experienced in mystery dramas and the people who love the mystery genre.Ī cleverly surprising story The show is cleverly produced with plot twists at every corner. So overall the drama is good and I liked it. Honestly speaking I always guess who the killer before the drama tells the Audience but in this one I didn't saw that coming. That's why I think the drama should've been shorter cuz they certainly did not had more story to entertain the audience. So, becuase of that I was pretty much bored in the whole drama. So if I compare it to the dramas I've watch in the same theme and genre I didn't like it that much cuz I've seen a few dramas like this already. Of course the main motive was to find the killer but they gave me a lot of events and things to entertain me in between the time they were finiding the killer but this drama wasn't like that. The whole theme of the drama was interesting and I really wanted to know who was the killer but what bored me was that there was nothing going on interesting other than finding out who the killer was.Īs a person who is a big mystery fan, all of my favourite mystery dramas had something to entertain me in between the episodes rather than the main plot of finding who the killer is. As a person who watches a lot of mystery dramas the story was pretty predictable for me. If I say honestly, I was pretty much bored in between the episodes. This is a review i wrote for another website originally but here you go -Īfter watching I can say, I liked it. Rewatch Value 5.0 I saw there are only 2 reviews for this drana so i decided to add my two cents. The whole cast also did a great job with their performances.Īll in all, I'd really recommend everyone to give it a try! don't let the few amount of recognition it got discourage you because as I said before, it's a lot better than it might seem at a first glance. She's exactly what we mean when we ask for a 'strong female lead' - someone who's not necessarily fearless or reckless, but brave enough to face her own fears and do the right thing.Īs for others, they were great too! The side characters, whether they're likable or despicable, are really well-written and I love how they're written like actual characters rather than just some stepping stones for the MC. She's smart, strong, and capable without being unrealistically 'superior' (as in intelligence or other aspects) to other characters. The MC is the best thing about this drama. Because plot-twists aren't supposed to be confusing, they're supposed to either caught you off-guard or make the story more interesting and complicated as new developments take place (at least that's what I believe, since I've watched my fair share of 'mystery' dramas that are a complete mystery for me to understand.) ![]() To some, maybe the plot might be a bit predictable, but it doesn't lowers the enjoyment, it only proves that the plot-twists were believable enough for the viewers to catch and not get confused. This is the first drama in which I couldn’t afford to fast forward any scenes because each episode of it kept me on edge of my seat and I loved every second of it. It's really not what it may seem at first what appears to be somewhat typical mystery drama about a mundane island in the beginning changes into something unexpected and dark. When I started it, I wasn't expecting it to be THAT good and even managing to grab my attention with just the first episode. I love plot above all and the plot of this drama is indeed quite amazing, everything is foreshadowed well and it stays interesting till the very end. I can't exactly put into words how absorbed I was into the story. A Hidden Gem! TDLR: Insomnia was a breath of fresh air, consistent with its storyline and gripping for all 13 eps. ![]() |
